Spanish idiom of the day:
de todo pelaje
(literally "of every [kind of] fur") =
of every stripe/of all stripes
(literally "de cada raya/de todas rayas")
E.g., "Politicians of all stripes attended the rally."
"Políticos de todo pelaje asistieron a la manifestación."
I wonder if the Spanish version comes from hunting or farming, and if the English one comes from the concept of national flags?
